Remember Day 4′s recap and how at peace I was with my day?

Something happened and today became a definite test of attitude!  I woke up late so I didn’t make it to the gym this morning as planned.  Not a big deal I was planning to walk with a friend tonight. However, about 9am it started hailing and its been raining ever since – so no walking tonight.  I wasn’t planning on an off day from working out.

Today’s plan is Low Carb, Moderate Fat.  I’ve determined that this is my least favorite of the 3 rotations.  I woke up super hungry, and Breakfast for today was a protein shake.  I made mine with Zico Coconut Water, 1 scoop protein powder, 2 tsp of peanut butter and ice.  It did not satisfy me and I was still hungry when I was done.   Sorry, no picture I drank it so quickly the shaker cup was empty by the time I realized I had forgotten to take a picture.

Snack was a handful of mixed nuts between meetings, and Lunch was the same as yesterday which was a large salad made with every color of the rainbow and 3oz grilled chicken.

I have amazingly supportive friends! My friend Rebecca (who by the way owns an amazing Pilates Studio if you live in So Cal you should check out) emailed me earlier in the week to ask what I wanted to do tonight, knowing that I was trying to eat right and stay on track.  The plan had been for us to walk and then I was going to shred some of the Garlic Oven Roasted Chicken from yesterday and make us a salad.  However, after eating salad for the past 4 days, I couldn’t stand the thought of another salad for dinner!

I wanted something warm and comforting for Dinner so I made some low carb tacos!

They were so good and turned out to be just what I was craving. I always make my taco meat just a little on the spicy side!  I typically use corn tortillas and add cheese, but I stuck to the plan, and subbed Sonora low carb tortillas, and added lots of tomato, and avocado for a satisfying and tasty dinner! Friend approved, we both ate 2!

Eating healthy isnt difficult, what Im learning about myself, is that I struggle with eating mindfully!  Sometimes I get so wrapped up in what I cant have, I loose sight of all that I can have.  Its important to remember why Im doing this.  Its so I can fuel my body properly, so I can loose the extra weight, so I can run faster, and overall its so I learn to use food for fuel and not for satisfying emotions.

Today was hard, but sometimes hard is good.  Sometimes getting out of our comfort zone is where the growth and magic happens!
